Inquisition resources are mighty indeed and while they are able to  bring  formidable forces to bear, they sometimes require a more focused and lethal approach via the Chamber Militant of the Ordo Xenos, the Deathwatch.   These elite soldiers are a surgical speartip force operating wherever the threat rears up. While both the Inquisition and Deathwatch can bring formidable naval forces to bear, sometimes a more clandestine approach is needed.

The Inquisitorial Prowler is one such vessel, a highly modified Sword Class Frigate, it’s purpose is to support small Deathwatch Kill Teams in secretive and often long duration missions far from home.

At 2 kilometers in length the Prowler Class can be self-sufficient for 60 months and provide everything needed in the field. Therefore ammunition for the Macrobatteries is reduced to only 200 rounds. The space instead is used for raw material storage, Manufactorum and forges, hydroponics bays and a protein farm. This keeps the crew of 20000 fed and allows them to rearm and repair equipment while on mission self sufficently.

Depending on the mission a force of between  5 and 15 marines can be embarked, with around 20 serfs per marine to maintain equipment and support in the field as needed.

The trusty Corvus Blackstar is the mainstay orbit to ground craft but some heavy lifters are available to carry light vehicles such as tanks, artillery and gravbikes.

The Prowler can provide orbital fire support and then quietly slip out of the system. Powered by a Jovian Pattern Class 2 reactor, the power output is several orders of magnitude higher than a typical ship of this size, allowing for fast acceleration from any trouble. For this reason the  primary armament is energy based, running power from the main reactor. Two wing mounted Light-Lances provide the heavy firepower with supplemental firepower provided by two dual turreted Las cannons that can rotate to stay on target while evading pursuit.

At close quaters there are turreted Macro-Cannons, numerous self defence cannons and  Macro Battery broadsides to get out of a tight spot, with a Ceramite prow for last resort.

THE BRIDGE

THE BRIDGE is the brain of the ship. situated at the top of the command spire giving an unobstructed view of the battlespace. Cogitator and crew stations occupy the lower gallery while the command throne sits above to monitor and give orders. The upper gallery is dominated by a huge holographic display.

GREAT NAVE

The Imperium runs on tradition and procedure, so having a large space for hosting and ceremony is very important. The Great Nave allows for tens of thousands in audience to hear sermons on the Imperial Truth.

REACTOR

Powered by a Jovian Pattern Class 2 Reactor, the power output is several orders of magnitude higher than a typical ship of this size, allowing for fast acceleration from any trouble. For this reason the  primary armament is energy based, running power from the main reactor.

MACROBATTERY

Imperial Navy doctrine heavily favors broadsides, meaning that macrobatteries are typically mounted along the port and starboard sides of a ship. They fire in coordinated salvos aiming to saturate the target area and overwhelm enemy void shields and armor through the sheer number of impacts.

They fire "house-sized slugs" across vast distances in space. These aren't small guns; they are colossal systems requiring crews hundreds to operate.
